The material that teddys are made of
Every teddy bear fan knows that Richard Steiff invented the teddy bear. But what would have happened in 1902 if he had not found any fleece? Thank goodness for Weberei Schulte in Duisburg, established by Reinhard Schulte in 1901. The company was taken over by the Steiff Group and became Steiff Schulte Webmanufaktur GmbH in 2009. For many decades now Steiff Schulte has been considered “the mecca of teddy-manufacturers from all over the world”. A name that stands for high-quality fleece. Even today, Steiff teddies together with the “original Schulte mohair” guarantee top-of-class teddies. Premium quality, 100% made in Germany.
