Exhibition extended until April 25, 2010

The exhibition "Alberto Giacometti: Woman with chariot," jointly produced by Stiftung Wilhelm Lehmbruck Museum - Center for International Sculpture, Duisburg, as the event organizer and Fondation Alberto et Annette Giacometti, Paris, as the scholarly research center, has been extended until April 25, 2010 in light of the vibrant interest shown by visitors.

The two curators Véronique Wiesinger, Director of the Giacometti foundation in Paris, and Dr. Gottlieb Leinz, Deputy Director of the Lehmbruck Museum, are very pleased by how immensely popular the exhibition has proved to be with the general public, largely owing to the superlative groups of works from Paris that are on show. Since it was opened at the end of January 2010, an unusually large number of visitors for Duisburg have seen the exhibition which focuses on the Duisburg highlight, Alberto Giacometti's "Woman with chariot" along with 120 other works, photographs and documented material on the important sculptor (1901-1966). The Lehmbruck Museum has the largest collection of Giacometti works in Germany and is making an effort to expand this starting with the exhibition.

The exhibition period has been extended for a week until April 25, 2010 in order to enable international visitors from the Art Cologne fair to make the highly worthwhile trip to Duisburg.
