Further target group orientated public participation possibilities
From September 2009 to the end of November 2009 various opportunities for participation were offered to young adolescents aged 12 to 20 years. The guiding slogan was "Your City - Your Ideas". Duisburg's youth was addressed via social networks such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter or directly at secondary schools, to take part in workshops and online surveys.
The aim of this participation was to establish a strengths-weaknesses profile based on the perspective Duisburg's teenagers have on their city. Subsequently future expectations, visions and ideas were developed that will help to qualify Duisburg as a liveable and family friendly city. This youth participation was sponsored as an ExWoSt-pilot project by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and urban Development.
