Duisburg2027 Citizens Forums

The aim of these citizen forums is to gather the ideas, desires and goals of all engaged citizen until autumn 2009 and integrate them into the municipality's planning concepts. This deliberatly public form of participation is a new approach to promote civil interests and thus, to create more transparent municipal decision-making processes. The work and findings of the citizen forums are therefore complementary to the planning process by the administration. They serve to improve the quality of planning within the urban development process initiated by the project Duisburg2027. The citizen forums potentially contribute to a target-orientated discussion and thus, also to an improved preparation of decisions in the various political bodies.
