The 'Little Tam Tam' Spielmobil (Play Bus)

Aims

Always involved in neighbourhood festivals -here in the Grillo park, Marxloh!

EG DU's 'Little Tam Tam' Spielmobil (Play Bus) is a mobile educational facility which is used in the Duisburg neighbourhoods Marxloh, Bruckhausen, Hochfeld and Beeck which have been included in the Land programme 'Socially Integrative City - NRW'.

The Play Bus team looks after the interests of children locally and is a contact for children, parents and residents in the directly adjacent built environment. The main area of the educational work is made of up participation projects with children relating to neighbourhood development/gaining of playing areas and educational play activities. Children are to be given an opportunity to actively participate in the process of change of their immediate surroundings and living circumstances and/or to provide stimuli for changes themselves.

The Play Bus actively advises and shapes activities where a special need for action exists in the view of the children. At the same time it supports the initiatives by adults for becoming active on behalf of children in the neighbourhood, holding play festivals, becoming sponsors for playgrounds, etc. Information on the individual projects can be found under 'Projects', the corresponding neighbourhood pages or directly from the Play Bus.
